About Me

Hey there and thanks for stopping by!

I am Lisa, resident Domestic Goddess :-)  To me that label means a whole variety of things.  I won't go into detail because I could seriously talk about it all day.  But this page is about me, so I will tell you some things about me.....

*  I have 2 kids, a boy and a girl, and love them more than life itself!
*  I have a dog that we rescued from a shelter who was abused by his last owner.  He is a sweet dog with many quirks, but he is my third child.
*  I love my home and my family and very much enjoy making our life comfortable and traditional and living in the "old-fashioned" way as much as we can in today's crazy busy world!
*  I am one of 4 girls, the oldest.
*  I grew up in an old house that had ghosts and to this day I am fascinated by everything ghostly, spiritual, and occult.
*  I am a wiccan/hedgewitch and what that means is I live in harmony with nature, the earth, and all of its inhabitants.  I work with herbs, crystals, and tarot and are constantly learning about my craft.
*  I would love to one day be a holistic healer/herbalist/shaman and be a wise woman greatly respected by my community for my knowledge.
*  My "pointer" toe on both of my feet (the one next to my big toe) sticks out farther than my big toe.  Some say its a sign of intelligence and some say its just weird, take your pick.
*  I believe in positive reinforcement....always!
*  I have learned to laugh out loud at people who are incredibly negative.  I find it makes them more apt to stop and say, "what the???" and instead of me absorbing the negativity, I laugh and it prevents me from feeling yucky.
*  I am an empath.  I strongly feel the emotions of people around me.  I can tell without people saying a word what feelings they are having.  Crowded places are very overwhelming for me, especially places like Walmart, where there seems to be a lot of negative energy around.
*  I am very crafty.  I scrapbook, crochet, do flower arranging, cross-stitch, and my grandmother even taught me how to do tatting, which is a very old craft that has unfortunately died.
*  I love animals and nature and do as much as I can to interact with me as much as possible and to teach my children about it.
*  My favorite sounds are the laughter of my two kiddos and my favorite images are their smiles!
*  I work at home doing medical transcription and have a lot of medical knowledge that helps me when working with my herbs and remedies.
*  I LOVE being in my kitchen.  My kitchen is my center in the home and I love cooking, baking, canning, and creating herbal concoctions in my kitchen.  I am most at home there.
*  I recently lost 35 pounds doing The Master Cleanse and would highly recommend detoxifying your body of all of the junk to anybody.  Its not easy to do, but the benefits for your body and your mind are so worth it!  I hope to lose another 10 pounds in the next few months by eating healthy and getting more active.
*  I am an avid couponer!  I have my coupon binder and have had it since BEFORE it was cool with shows like "Extreme Couponing."
*  I keep a Household Notebook and try really hard to organize my home and life to the best of my ability.
*  I am a self-help book junky! I own so many self-help books you think I would be about as perfect as a human being could be, but yeah, not!
*  I am cheap.  Mostly because I have to be, so I am always looking for frugal tips and ideas.
*  I love to sing and can carry a tune pretty well but am too scared to even sing karaoke.  I wish I wasn't such a chicken.
*  I always wanted to be a dancer and singer.
*  Unicorns was my favorite animal as a child and purple was my favorite color.
*  I wanted to be like Punky Brewster.  That girl had moxy and knew what she wanted out of life.  Love her!

So that is a bit about me.  I will probably add more later, but for now that is all I can think of.

Hopefully you enjoy my attempt a blog.  I am addicted to reading other people's blogs and watching YouTube videos, so hopefully someday people will enjoy mine too :-)

Brightest Blessings to you all and have a wonderful visit to my blog!!!
Lisa :-)
